The weather across India is shifting rapidly, with signs of mild winter starting to appear in various states. In the capital, Delhi, the temperature has started to drop, offering much-needed relief from the lingering warmth. to Hit Odisha and West Bengal Coast

A severe cyclonic storm, named Cyclone Dana, has developed in the Bay of Bengal and is expected to make landfall along the Odisha and West Bengal coasts on October 24-25. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has confirmed that the cyclone, which is currently moving north-northwest at a speed of 12 kmph, is likely to intensify further.

As of October 24, Cyclone Dana is projected to become a severe cyclonic storm, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds to coastal regions. The IMD has warned that the cyclone’s impact will be most significant in Odisha, with some parts of West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh also likely to experience its effects.

Delhi Weather Forecast

Today, on October 24, Delhi is expected to see a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum temperature of 17°C. The light winds blowing across the city will bring some respite from the heat, especially during the afternoon hours. With the onset of mild winter, Delhi residents can expect cooler mornings and evenings in the coming days.

Uttar Pradesh Rainfall Alert

In Uttar Pradesh, the IMD has issued a rainfall alert for several districts. Light rain is expected in parts of eastern and southern UP between October 24 and 25, particularly in districts like Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Ballia, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Deoria, and Sant Ravidas Nagar. These regions will also begin to experience mild cold as winter approaches, and the rain will further cool down the weather.

Bihar Weather Conditions

The weather in Bihar is also expected to change due to the impact of Cyclone Dana. The IMD has forecast strong winds and light rain in East Bihar between October 24 and 26. A total of 13 districts will likely see the storm’s impact, including Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Sheikhpura, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Lakhisarai, Purnia, Katihar, and Kishanganj. Residents have been advised to remain cautious during this period, as the cyclonic conditions may bring sudden changes in weather patterns.

Andhra Pradesh Weather Alert

In Andhra Pradesh, thunderstorms are expected in several parts of the state starting October 23 and lasting for the next five days. The IMD has warned that North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) and Yanam will experience thunderstorms between October 23 and 27, while Rayalaseema may see thunderstorms on October 23 and 24.
