Sandfall Interactive’s Debut RPG Achieves Commercial and Critical Success

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the debut title from Sandfall Interactive, has stormed onto the gaming scene with extraordinary success. Publisher Kepler Interactive confirmed that the turn-based RPG has sold over one million copies within just three days of its launch, cementing its position as one of 2025’s biggest gaming success stories.

The milestone was announced via the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, following an earlier report that Clair Obscur had sold over 500,000 units within its first 24 hours.

Record-Breaking Critical Acclaim

In addition to its commercial success, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has also become the highest-rated game of 2025. The title currently holds a Metacritic score of 92, surpassing acclaimed releases such as Blue Prince, Split Fiction, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. It also tops the rankings on OpenCritic with an overall score of 91.

The RPG launched globally on April 24 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X platforms. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can access the game at no additional cost.
