President Joe Biden was photographed wearing a Trump hat during a private meeting with community members in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The event, which was closed to the press, quickly became a viral moment, particularly among Republicans. The image circulated on social media, with some critics questioning Biden ’s mental sharpness and his ongoing support for Vice President Kamala Harris .

The viral photo emerged just after Vice President Kamala Harris took centre stage in the second presidential debate against former President Donald Trump. Held in Philadelphia and hosted by ABC News, the debate saw Harris and Trump clash over divisive issues such as abortion, illegal immigration, and the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.

The hat-wearing incident caught attention, occurring just a day after a heated debate where former President Donald Trump told Harris, "Biden hates you."

Users on X quickly reacted to the viral image, sparking a mix of comments. One user remarked, "Half of me thinks that Biden is just so unaware that he doesn’t realize what’s happening."

Another user pointed out the irony, writing, "What's hysterical is that Trump joked last night about sending a MAGA hat to Kamala because she stole his policies."

Others defended Biden’s actions. One commented, "Cuz Biden is a decent guy who appreciates firefighters' sacrifices, he put on the hat for 3 seconds. Trump doesn't appreciate ANYONE'S service enough to do something like that for them."

Another user added, "Before MAGAs spin this photo. A Trump supporter asked Joe to wear a MAGA hat, and Biden wore it instantly to show how Americans came together on 9/11."

At the 9/11 ceremony in New York, Biden, Trump, and Harris had appeared together, marking a rare occasion where political opponents gathered in the same space. The event, held to commemorate the nearly 3,000 victims, featured a bell toll and a moment of silence, with both political figures observing the reading of the victims' names.

Despite the sombre occasion, the political backdrop was hard to ignore. Trump’s presence alongside his running mate, Senator JD Vance, and the handshakes exchanged between Biden, Trump, and Harris added to the day’s atmosphere.
