In a recent YouTube interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami and his friend Umesh Kumar revealed some lesser-known facts about Shami's life and one of them was that Shami cannot live without mutton.


During the 41.33 minutes interview, when Shubhankar asked Umesh to reveal Shami's secrets, he said, "Shami can bear everything, but Shami cannot survive without mutton. He can tolerate it for one day, you will see him agitated on the second day, and will lose his mind on the third. If he (Shami) doesn't eat 1kg mutton daily, his bowling speed will reduce by upto 15 kmph."

Shami confessed in the interview that he is a hardcore non-vegetarian and it's a childhood habit. He later mentioned in the interview, that in his life he has been away from non-vegetarian for a maximum period of 19 days. Explaining the situation Umesh said, "This happened during the Shradh month, when Shami came to live with him and after shradh, navratri started and that is how he couldn't eat non-veg for 19 days."
