NEW DELHI: Suspicious movements were spotted along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir ’s Uri sector on Monday, prompting troops to open fire, Army officials said.
Search operations are currently underway in the area, ANI reported.
Earlier in the day, nearly half a dozen drones from Pakistan were spotted hovering over several forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, prompting security forces to launch a search operation in the area.
The drones, believed to be meant for surveillance, flew at a high altitude and returned to the Pakistani side within five minutes, officials said.
Previously this month, the Army foiled an infiltration attempt in the Churunda area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, PTI reported.
