ED mounts raids over Coldplay, Diljit concerts ticket sales scam

NEW DELHI: ED Saturday carried out searches across Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bangalore in connection with alleged black-marketing and fake ticket sales for the forthcoming concerts of Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Dilluminati’.

ED said FIRs have been filed in various states, including one by Bookmyshow against several suspects believed to be exploiting concert-goers. It alleges these individuals have engaged in selling counterfeit tickets and drastically inflated prices, taking advantage of the high demand for these concerts.

ED, which has initiated a probe under PMLA, said leading official ticketing partners like Bookmyshow and Zomato Live reported tickets sold out in just minutes of the sale being offered on their platforms. Soon, tickets were being sold on the web at exorbitant prices.

“Following the rapid sellout, reports emerged of people being deceived through fraudulent ticket sales. Many found that they were sold fake tickets ,” the agency said.
