Apple iPhone 16 series: India pricing

The iPhone 16 is priced at Rs 79,900 in India, while the iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs 134,900.

Apple iPhone 16 series: Key highlights

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus retain the familiar design of their predecessors, with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, but now offer enhanced brightness, peaking at 2000 nits and dimming as low as 1 nit. These models feature a new vertical camera setup, including a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultrawide lens with autofocus, allowing for macro photography.

On the Pro side, the iPhone 16 Pro expands to a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max grows to 6.9 inches. Both Pro models continue to use titanium construction and come in four finishes, including a new "dessert titanium" option.

A key update across all models is the new Camera Control button, replacing the Ring/Silent switch. This button provides quick camera access, tactile feedback, and supports various shooting modes. A future software update will introduce two-stage shutter functionality for the Pro models.

Powered by the A18 chip , the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus see a 30% performance improvement over the A16, bringing Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools and Clean Up, which were previously exclusive to Pro models.

The Pro variants are equipped with the A18 Pro chip, boasting a 16-core Neural Engine that's 15% faster than before, and supporting advanced gaming features like hardware-based ray tracing.

Camera upgrades on the Pro models are significant, with a 48MP "fusion camera," a new 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 5x telephoto lens. These enhancements enable 4K video recording at 120fps and introduce new photo styles that can be applied after capture.

Apple also promises notable improvements in battery life across the lineup, though specific figures were not disclosed. The Pro models now support Qi2 wireless charging.
