Knowing the movie was packed with Easter eggs, the question is, how many did you catch? Let us break down some of the best ones to see if you captured them during your watch.
Water bucket clutch
It is a classic survival move that the hardcore Minecraft players know of. The trick is a hallmark of skilled players, and it is used to avoid fall damage. The movie perfectly recreated it when Steve, along with Garrett and Henry , fell from a height and landed safely, all thanks to the well-trimmed bucket toss.

It is a very small detail, but it shows how closely the film mirrors the actual gameplay mechanics.
Village love story as part of the post-credits scene
It was bizarre but a hilarious post-credits moment. In it, Vice Principal Marlene, the role played by Jennifer Coolidge, falls for Nitwit Villager— a character voiced by Matt Berry. When they profess their love, the red hearts float above their heads like when the animals breed in-game.

“Out of all the sex scenes & stuff [I’ve done], I have to say I think my scene with Nitwit, it’s the most attracted I’ve ever been to a character. Certainly turned on”

It is ridiculous but a very brilliant nod to the quirky mechanics of Minecraft. It proves that even the weirdest of in-game features could make up for a great comedy.
Chicken Jockey
As part of it, this Easter eff, in the film, an unexpected fight features Garrett battling Chicken Jockey, the baby zombie riding the chicken. The rare mobs are a real pain to deal with in the game, and the movie perfectly turns the chaotic energy into a full-blown wrestling match.

The scene is a deep-cut reference and a fun action moment that only the true fans would appreciate.
Secret Stash- The ultimate inventory of Steve
When Steve shows off the hidden treasure room, the eagle-eyed fans spot the diamond armor, TNT, golden carrots, and even Boots of Swiftness from the Minecraft Dungeons.
The scene is basically the love letter to hoard the valuable loot, something all Minecraft players do at least once.
Loading Screen: A nostalgic opening
The movie begins exactly like the Minecraft game, with the Building Terrain loading screen. It is simple but a great way to immerse the fans right from the beginning and make them feel like they just booted the new world.
Original soundtrack- In-game music
Minecraft calming soundtrack fans will recognize C418’s Calm 1 playing in Overworld. Even Malgosha, the villain, gets her musical moment with Lena Raine’s Pigstep, the Nether Update track.
The musical choices are not just background noise, but they are the direct callback to the iconic audio landscape of the game.
Technoblade tribute: Touching homage
At last, we come to one of the most emotional moments in the film, where Henry spots a pig wearing a golden crown. When he asks, “Is he some kind of king?” Steve responds, “That’s a legend.”
It was a direct reference to Technoblade, a legendary Minecraft YouTuber. He passed away in 2022, but his iconic pig-with-crown avatar got immortalized in the game with splash text that read, “Technoblade never dies!” Now, it is also a part of the movie.
The directors of the MINECRAFT movie had no plans to include a Technoblade tribute until Actor Sebastian Hansen asked for it.

As revealed by Director Jared Hess, this was one of his favorite Easter eggs that was inspired by Sebastian Hansen’s suggestion. It was meant to honor the late content creator.
So, now you know why A Minecraft Movie is not just about the cash grab but a celebration of all that makes the game beloved. Each of the Easter eggs shows how much care went into making the movie feel authentic.
Did you catch all the above 7 Easter eggs, or did you miss them? Well, if you did, find time to watch the movie again and see if you get lucky this time.
