Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown will be missing a couple of weeks

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is expected to miss a couple of weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained during practice. Brown was unable to play in the Atlanta Falcons' game against the Falcons and is not believed to be seriously injured. He is expected to miss Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints . Brown, who has 384 receptions for 6,066 yards and 44 touchdowns in 78 career games, has been targeted a team-high 10 times by Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts in Week 1.

He experienced tightness during practice and was downgraded the day before the game. Brown, who is a top wide receiver for the Eagles, started the season well, completing five receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Green Bay Packers.

Brown, who joined the Eagles via trade in 2022, has consistently produced consecutive 1,400-yard Pro Bowl seasons. The Eagles are set to face the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their next two games, both currently 2-0. Brown missed his first regular-season game as an Eagle, but will contribute to the team's tally.


In the 2022 NFL draft, Brown was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 18th overall pick, which was used to select Treylon Burks from Arkansas. Tennessee also received a third-round pick. Brown signed a four-year, $100 million contract with the Eagles, with $57 million guaranteed. The trade was opposed by Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, leading to a decrease in wide receivers' receptions and yards, and ultimately, the Titans' decision to fire general manager Jon Robinson.

On October 29, 2023, Brown broke the NFL record of five consecutive games with at least 125 receiving yards, breaking the previous record held by Calvin Johnson (2012) and Pat Studstill (1966). He amassed 831 receiving yards between Week 3 and Week 8, including a 34-31 overtime victory against the Washington Commanders. Brown was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month of October for his record-breaking performance. In 2023, he had 106 receptions for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns, ranking 21st on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2024.
