The NHL rumor mill is in full swing with speculation revolving around the three familiar names—Steven Stamkos, Pavel Zacha, and Brandt Clarke. As teams are assessing their potential for the playoffs, the chatter about roster modifications has fans and insiders ready for the unexpected. While no specific trade discussions have taken place, observers within the league think the scenario might change rapidly for those clubs whose playoff hopes are dimmed by large currents.
The Nashville Predators are paying serious attention to Steven Stamkos , who this year so far has recorded only three points in 16 matches. TSN’s Pierre LeBrun provided information that the Predators have not had any trade talks with the veteran or discussed a possible move for him. However, Elliotte Friedman hinted on Morning Cuppa Hockey that the Stamkos camp might soon have a meeting with management to reassess the season’s plans. With a cap hit of $8 million and a full no-movement clause tied to him, any such deal would ultimately require a lot of adjustments, even perhaps involving salary retention from the Predators’ side.
The impressive five-game winning streak of the Boston Bruins has, to some extent, stifled the discussions about Pavel Zacha. TVA Sports' Nicolas Cloutier disclosed that Montreal Canadiens ' GM Kent Hughes is very fond of Zacha and even opened the possibility of a trade over the summer. However, with Boston returning to their best, a deal does not seem probable, at least for the time being.
Despite the rumors, none of these players seems to be on the verge of a trade. Stamkos' future is tied to Nashville's playoff run, Zacha is a safe bet in Boston, and Clarke is still considered a long-term asset in LA. It's unlikely that these players will be mentioned again until there is a change of circumstances within the teams prior to the trade deadline.

Which teams could make a move for these stars before the trade deadline?Pierre LeBrun: There have not been any conversations between the Predators and any other team...regarding Steven Stamkos; if we get to the second half...and the Predators are out of a playoff spot...the Predators would be open to fielding calls - Insider Trading (11/6)

On the other hand, as per the report by James Murphy of RG.Org, the Los Angeles Kings are receiving interest for Brandt Clarke. Even though his entry-level contract is about to expire, the Kings intend to hold on to Clarke, who scored 33 points last season.
