Meghan Markle’s new OTT cooking show 'With Love, Meghan' has recently come under fire, with several well-known celebrity chefs accusing her of using their ideas without giving credit.
As reported by Radar Online stars like Martha Stewart, Rachael Ray, Joanna Gaines, and even Pamela Anderson are reportedly unhappy with the similarities between Markle’s content and their own.
In the first episode of her series, Meghan is seen preparing a simple one-pan pasta made with cherry tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, arugula, and Parmesan cheese. However, many viewers and industry insiders quickly pointed out that the recipe looked very similar to a popular dish created by Martha Stewart. Instead of addressing the comparison, Meghan didn’t mention Stewart or give her any acknowledgment for the inspiration.
A source told Radar Online that Martha Stewart was not pleased with the situation. They claimed that Stewart was “steaming mad” and felt that Meghan had gone too far by recreating the dish without a mention. To subtly respond, Stewart posted her original recipe on her website with a playful headline that read, “The original and the best!”
According to the same report, the tension didn’t stop there. Meghan’s lifestyle brand, which was first called American Riviera Orchard before being rebranded as As Ever, is now being compared to Joanna Gaines’ famous brand Magnolia. Although Gaines hasn’t spoken out publicly, insiders say she feels that Meghan has borrowed too much from her style and ideas. One source said, “Joanna is too classy to say anything openly, but she’s clearly not happy about it.”
There are also claims that Markle’s cooking show copied entire scenes from Pamela Anderson’s program Pamela’s Cooking with Love. Some fans even believe that parts of the show appear to be recreated “shot for shot.”
While many famous chefs are expressing frustration, actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly the only one who has shown support for Meghan.
So far, Meghan Markle has not publicly responded to the criticism. As fans continue watching With Love, Meghan, some are now questioning how original her ideas really are.
