IB SA answer key 2025 : The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially released the provisional answer key for the IB Security Assistant (SA)/Executive (EXE) Tier-I examination 2025. Candidates who appeared for the written exam on September 29 and 30, 2025, can now access the answer key through the official MHA website at mha.gov.in.

This release marks a key step in the ongoing recruitment drive to fill 4987 vacancies for the post of Security Assistant/Executive in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The answer key will help candidates estimate their scores and identify any discrepancies in the evaluation process.

Answer key available for download with objection window open

The provisional answer key for the IB SA/EXE Tier-I exam was published on October 4, 2025. The objection window is open from October 4 to October 7, 2025, allowing candidates to review the responses and submit challenges, if necessary.


To access the answer key and raise objections, candidates are required to log in using their User ID and password. Submissions must be supported with valid documentary evidence, and a prescribed fee may be applicable for each objection raised.


Tier-I exam conducted in multiple shifts
The Tier-I examination for IB SA/EXE was held in four shifts across two days—September 29 and 30, 2025. The online objective-type test carried a total of 100 marks and covered five subjects: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning & Analytical Ability, English Language, and General Studies. Negative marking of 0.25 marks was applicable for each incorrect answer.

As per the recruitment notification, the minimum qualifying marks were set at 30 for UR/EWS, 28 for OBC, and 25 for SC/ST candidates.

Massive recruitment drive for Group 'C' non-gazetted posts
The IB Security Assistant/Executive recruitment 2025 is being conducted for a total of 4987 vacancies. Classified under Group 'C', the posts are non-gazetted and non-ministerial in nature. Selected candidates will be placed in Level-3 of the pay matrix (?21,700 – ?69,100) along with central government allowances. Additional benefits include a 20% Special Security Allowance and compensation for duty performed on holidays, up to 30 days.

Candidates must possess a matriculation certificate, domicile of the applied state, and knowledge of the local language or dialect of the respective Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB) region. The age limit is between 18 and 27 years, with relaxations for reserved categories and special cases as per government rules.

Candidates qualifying Tier-I will be shortlisted for Tier-II, which includes a descriptive translation test. Those clearing both stages will be called for the Tier-III personality test, the final phase before appointment.
