THANE: A 29-year-old man was arrested for the murder of another man over persistent verbal abuse and workplace conflicts.

Ravikumar Vishnu Singh, a resident of Kadamtholi in Chhattisgarh's Jaspur district, was arrested at Katni Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh following skilled investigative work by the Bhiwandi police.

The victim, identified as 30-year-old Chittranjan Nageshiya from the same village as the accused, was found brutally killed in the Dattunagar area of Bhiwandi. He suffered fatal injuries to his head, chest, and abdomen from stones and other weapons, said Amar Singh Jadhav, DCP (Crime).

The case initially presented significant challenges for investigators as both the victim and perpetrator were new to the area, having stayed there for just one day, with no one locally able to identify them.

Crime Branch Unit-2 of Bhiwandi utilised CCTV footage and technical intelligence to track down the suspect. The Railway Protection Force provided assistance in the arrest operation.

During interrogation, Singh confessed that he committed the crime due to two main grievances: resentment over losing employment opportunities because of Nageshiya's alcohol addiction, and anger over the victim's continuous verbal abuse regarding Singh's parents.

The case was registered at Shantinagar Police Station under the BNS 2023, Section 103(1), and was successfully resolved by the investigative team.
