Vistadome tourist train from Silchar in 3 mnths' time

Silchar: Divisional manager of the northeast frontier railway, Lumding division, Prem Ranjan Kumar on Wednesday said that a Vistadome tourist train will start from Silchar in the next three months.

Talking to the media at Silchar station, Kumar said that presently, the Vistadome service could not be extended from Badarpur till Silchar because of timing-related issues.

“The work of electric traction in the hilly section will be completed in the next two to three months, after which the electric locomotives will operate. Speed of the trains will also increase and an extra time of half-an-hour to one hour will be available to make necessary adjustments. The Vistadome service will then start from Silchar,” DRM Kumar said.
