Bengaluru: Bengaluru is expected to experience days almost as cool as its nights over the next two days, with minimal difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).On Tuesday, the city’s maximum temperature dropped to 21.9 degrees Celsius, which is 6.6 degrees Celsius below the normal, while the minimum temperature remained slightly above normal at 20.2 degrees Celsius (compared to the usual 20 degrees Celsius). This resulted in a diurnal temperature variation of just 1.7 degrees Celsius. As per a DH report, the persistent rainfall throughout the day kept temperatures stable, with little to no fluctuation. Cloudy skies blocked sunlight across the city, and easterly winds brought cold air, according to N. Puviarasan, Scientist F, and Head of the Meteorological Centre in Bengaluru. If there had been no rain or cloud cover throughout the day, the maximum temperature would have naturally increased. Additionally, a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, extending to the Coromandel coast, is causing cloudy conditions, which are keeping temperatures lower. The IMD noted that this minimal difference between day and night temperatures is typical in hilly and inland areas, and these conditions are expected to persist until October 17.The IMD has forecast a minimum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 25 degrees Celsius until then, with diurnal temperature variation staying below 5°C, making both days and nights feel equally cool.
