Reported by Deepti SachdevaNew Delhi: The restoration of statehood of Jammu and Kashmir remains the most important issue in the upcoming assembly election in the union territory, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said in an exclusive interview to Times Now. "This election is to get the state back on its feet. To bring people out of the tragedies that they have faced in these last ten years," he said. The National Conference chief also accused the BJP of playing politics with the emotions of people. "Yeh (BJP) logon ko dhokha dete hain. Pehle Ram ke naam par, ki Ram ko hum laaye. Ram tho vishwa ka Ram hai," National Conference chief said.Asked if National Conference will bury its differences with the BJP in the near future, he said," There will no alliance with the BJP. Never".Abdullah also accused PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti for BJP's rise in the union territory. "Who brought the BJP here? Who took their hand to run the government? Who, her father. She was also the Chief Minister. She also joined them. She was part of that alliance and she blames us," he said.On the PDP chief's allegations of a tactic understanding between his son Omar Abdullah and the BJP, Farooq, laughing sarcastically said," I smile at her thoughts. God bless her brain. I wish one day you will see her true colour".

The National Conference leader's remarks came as Union Home Minister Amit Shah - who is on a visit to the state - accused the former's party for the rise in terrorism in the state."National Conference and Congress have made promises like releasing terrorists from jails after the formation of their government. In front of Maa (Machial Mata’s) shrine, I am saying to you that this is Modi’s government and no one has the courage to spread terrorism on the soil of India," he said.Addressing an election rally in Kishtwar district, the BJP leader also asserted that BJP-led central government will bury terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir so deep that it can never rise again. "Today, I promise to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, including this region which has a history of sacrifices following the eruption of terrorism in 1990, that we will bury terrorism to such a deep level that it will never surface again,” the home minister said. This was the home minister’s second visit to the Jammu region within a fortnight. Earlier, during his two-day visit to Jammu on September 6 and 7, he released BJP’s manifesto for J-K assembly elections and addressed a workers convention.Monday is the last day for campaigning in 24 assembly constituencies, including Padder-Nagseni, which goes to polls in the first phase on September 18. BJP has fielded former minister Sunil Sharma from the constituency for the assembly elections.
