Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live at Currys but you need to visit the store in person

Despite , multiple retailers have started selling the console early. Very, GAME and , while Amazon has set up an invitation system for potential customers.

Currys is the latest retailer to go live with pre-orders, offering customers the chance to pay now in order to secure a device for the June 5 launch. Unfortunately, however, there's a catch, because customers will have to visit the store in person to pre-order the Switch 2.

"Head in-store to pre-order the new Nintendo Switch 2 and get it on June 5," reads a post on the .

You can use the website's store locator to check where your nearest Currys shop can be found.

It's also worth calling your closest store to check if pre-order stock is sold out before making the journey.

If you don't have any luck at Currys, then you can always request and invite from Amazon.

Simply visit the , request and invite, and wait for an email confirming whether or not you can pre-order from the retailer.

While Argos is sold out at the time of writing, there's a good chance more stock will be available in the coming days and weeks, so you may want to keep checking the Argos website.

As a reminder, the Switch 2 comes in two different editions. There's the standard version with no games for £395.99, or a bundle containing the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World for £429.99.

The Nintendo Switch 2 release date was announced during a recent Direct conference, alongside a boatload of new games.

The new Nintendo console will launch on June 5, alongside games like Mario Kart World, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Fortnite, and Hogwarts Legacy.

Additional first and third-party games will be available in the weeks and months after launch, including Donkey Kong Bananza on July 17 and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond later in the year.

Nintendo will also release enhanced versions of existing Switch games, including upgraded editions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

The Switch 2 Enhanced games will feature improved visuals, smoother frame-rates and in some cases, new content.
