Wonderful to see the Princess of Wales looking so healthy as she visited a hospital in Essex last week - and equally wonderful to hear her candour about her recovery from cancer. It has been a "rollercoaster" said Kate, adding "You're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to."
Sadly, my late Dad did not survive his encounter with cancer and died in his mid-fifties. But, having witnessed up close and personal what it is like for someone, and their family, to take on this disease I applaud Kate's words - and sincerely hope they'll provide some right royal support to those in need.

Now we know the causes of the fire that closed Heathrow Airport in March and wrecked the travel plans of 300,000 people were flagged up SEVEN years ago.
Any chance someone could wake up airport boss and bungler in chief Thomas Woldbye -who slept through the initial stages of the drama - for an explanation?

Having been in and around radio and TV studios for the last thirty-five years, I can assure you the excuse that the BBC has offered that it "was too complex" to cut the feed of that vile act at Glastonbury is utter drivel.
With 400 staff there at a reported cost of circa £6 million, they had the personnel - including Director General Tim Davie - and the kit to cut to another of the acts.
That they chose not to is an act of gross incompetence. They'll speak of "full inquiries," "producer guidance" and "training programmes," but in truth nothing will change. Because no one has the determination to make it happen.

If any of you have tried to come to London to watch the tennis at Wimbledon, apologies for the appalling state of our public transport system which has rightly been blamed on chairman of Transport for London and the Mayor, Sir Sadiq Khan. But console yourself with the thought you were only visiting. Some of us have to live here.
