With Halloween now a distant memory, Brits are already decking their halls and breaking out the Quality Street. One of the most cherished ways to usher in the festive spirit is by indulging in Christmas films.
While classics like Love Actually and The Holiday never fail to warm hearts, it's always a treat to discover a new yuletide flick. Netflix is set to deliver just that this week, with a fresh Christmas film featuring some very familiar faces.
The plot for the romantic comedy A Merry Little Ex-Mas goes as follows: "All Kate and Everett want for Christmas is an amicable divorce and one last holiday as a family, but new flames and old feelings complicate their plans."
The film boasts not one, but two of the most iconic stars from nineties television and cinema - Alicia Silverstone of Clueless fame and Sabrina the Teenage Witch's Melissa Joan Hart.
Fans are thrilled to see the duo sharing the screen, with one exclaiming: "Clueless and Sabrina the Teenage Witch in a movie together, love it."
Another chimed in: "So many 90s stars. I am here for this!"
While a third added: "Wow! It is so great to see Melissa Joan Hart acting again along with Alicia Silverstone. This looks so amazing to watch during the holiday season."
Joining Alicia and Melissa in the star-studded cast are Oliver Hudson, Jameela Jamil and Pierson Fode.
In addition to her starring role, Alicia also served as an executive producer on the film.
Clueless continues to be Silverstone's most celebrated performance, though she has also featured in productions such as 1997's Batman and Robin, 2008's Tropic Thunder, and held a leading part in this year's television series Irish Blood.
Meanwhile, Melissa Joan Hart featured in the TV programme Melissa and Joey between 2010-2015 and was reportedly linked to a revival of her beloved series Clarissa Explains It All, though the venture was shelved in 2023 after the actress expressed concerns about the storyline.
She revealed to Insider at the time: "I believe it was that Clarissa is divorced and moving to California with her two kids and living on the beach in California with her aunt.
"So, I don't know. It wasn't my favourite way in."
