A stretch of the M4 was shut in both directions as emergency services rushed to the scene following a serious crash. Traffic Wales warned drivers the road was closed between Junction 36 Sarn, and Junction 35 Pencoed.
A spokesperson said earlier: "Warning - Collision on M4 eastbound J36 Sarn - J35 Pencoed. Road is currently closed. Emergency services at scene." Traffic monitoring system Inrix says: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M4 in both directions at J36 A4061 (Bridgend / Sarn Service Area).
"Prior to 12.30pm all traffic was held Eastbound and not long after Westbound was also held."
However, traffic on the affected stretch of the M4 is now easing, with both the Eastbound and Westbound now reopened, traffic monitoring site Inrix says.
They were closed following an earlier accident on M4 Eastbound at J36 A4061 (Bridgend / Sarn Service Area), Wales Online reports.
Traffic Wales cameras suggest movement on the road is back to normal, Wales Online reports.
In a statement South Wales Police was it was "called at 12:15pm today (Thursday July 24) to a single car having collided with the central reservation on the M4 Eastbound between junctions 35 and 36".
"Minor injuries have been reported, and no arrests have been made," it added.
