Despite Daniel Craig's last appearance as the 007 agent almost four years ago, fans are still patiently waiting for his replacement. Whoever plays the role will have big shoes to fill, and several contenders have been named over the last few months. A new name that has now been suggested is British actor Callum Turner, who is reportedly "tipped" for the role of Bond. The 35-year-old actor, who is engaged to pop singer Dua Lipa, has appeared in the Harry Potter spin-off films, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and The Secrets of Dumbledore. He's also been in the Apple TV+ film Masters of the Air opposite Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan.
According to a report from Heart Bingo, they have reported that Callum Turner would be the Amazon bosses' best choice for James Bond. It was revealed earlier this year that the company Amazon MGM Studios had gained creative control of the franchise.
Sarah Caskie, Head of Brand for the online website, told the Daily Mail: "With the rumour mill surrounding the next continuing to turn following the announcement that Amazon will be taking the reins with the franchise, we've turned to public opinion to find the best fit for the 007 role."
She added: "The masses have spoken on X and we've collated the data to find that Callum Turner is the people's choice to replace Daniel Craig, with 63% of posts concerning his potential role in the next film being positive, while 0% were negative."
Express Online has contacted Callum's representative for comment.
It comes after Variety reported that James Bond bosses have made a big decision and narrowed down their search to "three names".
The publication reported that the studio and producers are interested in "casting a British actor under the age of 30." According to an inside source, the three names who are believed to be in the running are "Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi".
While Jacob is Australian, this reportedly won't be a dealbreaker for Bond bosses, as former Aussie actor George Lazenby starred in the Bond flick, On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
This follows the news that Denis Villeneuve was confirmed as the director of the next Bond film. The celebrated filmmaker is known for his visionary works on Dune, Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, and Prisoners.
Express Online has previously contacted representatives of Tom Holland, Jacob Elordi, Harris Dickinson, and Amazon for comment.
