Emmerdale has broadcast the shocking comeback of 'deceased' Callum after his brutal attack the previous week.
Viewers of the ITV drama will recall that teenager April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) was manipulated into prostitution by Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and his domineering mother Celia Daniels (Angela Griffiths).
When April encountered the sinister client Callum, she attempted to flee by striking him over the head with a vodka bottle, rendering him unconscious. She remains convinced that Callum has perished, whilst Ray continues his psychological manipulation of the schoolgirl.
During Wednesday's Emmerdale episode (November 5), Ray exploited her remorse and feigned worry, informing April that he "needs someone up in Newcastle" and that it would benefit her to depart and "clear her head".
The antagonist assured April she would merely be handling narcotics as he persuaded her that relocating from the village was sensible, reports the Daily Star.
April began bidding farewell to her relatives, pretending she was taking a necessary respite to visit friends in Newcastle, and might even explore the local university.
In a devastating scene, April delivered an emotional goodbye to her brother Leo Goskirk (Harvey Rogerson) and admitted she had committed "something bad".
Meanwhile, Ray emerged in his vehicle with Callum, who remains very much breathing, beside him, and denied him any medical treatment for his head wound.
In a menacing conversation, Ray declared to Callum, "April won't be causing any more trouble", confirming he was aware of his destiny throughout
As April gears up to bid farewell to the village, Emmerdale viewers were left unimpressed by Callum's fate, having suspected he was alive all along.
One fan took to Reddit to express their thoughts: "Of course he (Callum? ) isn't dead. At least when this all comes out, April won't be sent down for killing someone, but when will this manipulation end!?"
Another viewer commented: "Not like nobody could see that coming", while a third added: "It was a pretty predictable plot twist."
"It was so predictable that he would still be alive," chimed in another.
On X, another viewer remarked: "Non-surprise of the year. Callum isn't actually dead. Yawn! # Emmerdale."
"I wasn't convinced that April killed Callum, and there's the creep in Ray's car with that stupid bandage around his head. # Emmerdale", one person added.
"Oh look, there's a dead man, Callum...#Emmerdale," another quipped, followed by laughing emojis.
Will April depart the village for Newcastle? Emmerdale fans will have to stay tuned to find out.
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
