Armed police have descended onto a residential street in Halewood, with the road cordoned off as emergency services rush to the scene. Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, and North West Ambulance Service are all in attendance at the emergency on Arncliffe Road.
It is not yet clear what the nature of the incident is. Merseyside Police have been approached for comment.
One man who lives on the street told the Liverpool Echo: "Police have been here for hours. Everyone has been evacuated out of the block. I heard arguing earlier. I went out for a job. On my way back, I saw police flying down Macket's Lane and thought, I bet they're coming here."
