British supermodel Georgina Cooper has died aged 46, just a few weeks after she tied the knot with her new husband.
She had tragically died on the Greek island of Kos, it has been reported. Her death was confirmed by her agent and she was apparently with her husband Nigel.
The model was one of the most renowned faces in the mid nineties and was reportedly a close friend of Kate Moss. The MailOnline has said that Georgina quit her job in October in order to set up a bar on the island of Kos.
A number of icons in the fashion world have paid tribute to her online.
Model Jade Parfitt uploaded a series of photos of Georgina on Instagram, penning: "Goodbye beautiful girl" alongside a white heart.
She added: "Devastated to share the news of George's passing. One of the funniest and naughtiest, never mind most beautiful friends, we all wanted to hang out with George backstage."
Erin O'Connor wrote: "Ahh George.... You were an incredibly loving and kind human-being. We all admired and loved you so much for the warmth and generosity you brought to us all. Beautiful soul, Mum, woman. Rest in peace."
Georgina, who hailed from London, started modelling in 1992 at the tender age of 13. She then shot to stardom in the Cool Britannia period of the Nineties.
In 2018, it was revealed in an interview that she was working in the hospitality industry.
She explained: "I work in the hospitality industry, and I love it because I'm a people person.
"After I had my son I just couldn't bear to leave him alone and I wanted to be there for him. I tried to continue modeling but it broke my heart when I had to leave him for work. I focused on modelling assignments in London but my life was at a crossroads and I decided that Sonny came first."
