rushed a "heavily" pregnant woman to hospital after a horrific fall.

On Friday morning (October 18), the beloved breakfast presenter shared how her Thursday took an unexpected turn. The beloved broadcaster revealed on air that after she wrapped up her show, she went noticed "a bit of a commotion" as she parked up on her street.

Determined to get to the bottom of it, the 53-year-old went to investigate and soon realised pregnant woman had taken a tumble. She told listeners: "I'm thinking, 'Oh my goodness, I hope she's alright'. Anyway, it turns out she's very heavily pregnant. Really lovely lady.

"She'd had a fall. She was very shaken up. She was really winded and quite frightened, obviously, because she's worrying about the baby." Thankfully, the expectant mother was surrounded by plenty of people who helped her get back on her feet.

But upon realising that she was one month away from giving birth, the group collectively decided that she should go to hospital to make sure her baby was okay.

It was at this point the mum-of-two - who shares son Woody, 23, and daughter Nelly, 14, with her ex-husband Norman Cook - offered to take her to A&E because he car was nearby.

As she recalled the story on air, she protected the woman's identity by simply calling her 'T'. Zoe admitted that she was slightly worried T would give birth in her car, so she recruited another woman called Jess to come with them.

She admitted: "I was like, 'Jess, will you come with us? Because you might have to do hot towels or something'. As the trio headed over to the hospital, the radio host said she felt a sense of urgency to get there.

The broadcaster went on: "I was thinking, 'I need to run the blue lights on the top of the car'. I've never been in an ambulance before."

Things only escalated when T wasn't able to get hold of her family, including her husband, who was in a work meeting with her mother. T's friends also weren't answering the phone.

Thankfully, after they pulled up at the hospital, Zoe and Jess exchanged numbers with T before they left her in the safe hands of the doctors. Although the veteran host had to "wait all day" to see how T had got on, she did find out that "she and the lovely baby were okay."

While the baby was "absolutely fine", Zoe told her listeners that T had unfortunately suffered some fractured ribs from the fall. She explained: "Poor love, when you're heavily pregnant, you've got to go through labour, that is going to be painful.

"So I'm sending T and her family lots of love and safe happy landings for when you have the baby." Zoe concluded the tale by telling her listeners, "You just never know where your day's going to go, do you?"

It comes after the broadcaster returned to the airwaves after a six-week summer break. It remains unclear why she was absent for so long, but the blonde bombshell has shut down one rumour.

After receiving a test from a listener who joked that she had gone to Turkey for "a new face and teeth", Zoe had a laugh but insisted that wasn't the reason at all.

Her absence, which was filled by Scott Mills, came as a surprise to her loyal listeners because she has hosted the Radio 2 breakfast show since 2019, after taking over from Chris Evans.

Upon taking the reins, Zoe became the first female breakfast show host in the network's history, marking another achievement for the star, who was also Radio 1 Breakfast Show's first female presenter.
