New Delhi: Shots were fired at the house of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in an upscale locality of Gurugram early on Sunday. Two bike-borne miscreants fired at least a dozen rounds at the house before fleeing the spot, the police said.

The incident happened around 5.30 am at the Sector 56 residence in Gurugram. Yadav was not present there at the time.

According to the police he had gone outside Haryana for some work. The caretaker of the house and some family members were inside but no one was injured in the firing. Yadav has not filed a formal complaint yet.

The miscreants targeted the ground and first floors of the house. Yadav lives on the second and third floors.

The police are probing all angles, including an extortion attempt. Ramavtar Yadav, the YouTuber’s father, however, said that his son had received no threats.

“The police are here. I was sleeping when the firing occurred. About 25-30 shots were fired. Elvish didn’t get any threat. Three men were seen on the bike on CCTV, while two (of them) were seen at the gate,” Ramavtar told the media.

The police collected evidence from the spot and are scanning CCTV footage to gather information about the miscreants. An official said that further action will be taken after the family lodges a complaint.

Recently, the car of Haryanvi singer and rapper Rahul Yadav alias Fazilpuria was targeted. He escaped unhurt but just days before that, his close aide Rohit Shaukeen was killed in broad daylight in Gurugram. Gangster Sunil Sardhania of the Himanshu Bhau gang had claimed responsibility for the murder.

Yadav is not new to controversies. He was arrested last year for allegedly organising a rave party in which snake venom was used as a drug. A parallel probe was later launched against him by the Enforcement Directorate, and he was questioned under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
