Raipur: In a festive gesture ahead of Diwali, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a 4% increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, raising the total DA to 50%.
While addressing reporters in Raipur, CM Sai said, "There is a cabinet meeting today at 11:30 am. Our government has decided that all state employees are currently getting 46% DA, and we are increasing their DA by 4%. From now on, they will receive 50% DA."
The Chief Minister's Office confirmed that the new DA rate will take effect from October 1. "Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has gifted Diwali to state employees by announcing an increase in dearness allowance from 46% to 50%. State employees will benefit from this change starting October 1," the office said on X.
Earlier this month, CM Sai met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the development initiatives in the state over the last nine months, including significant advancements in agriculture, skill development, and education.
He also briefed the Prime Minister on a successful anti-Naxal operation, where 31 Naxals were eliminated in the Narayanpur-Dantewada district, marking one of the largest operations in the state’s history. PM Modi praised the courage of the security forces involved in this mission. Additionally, CM Sai expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the approval of eight lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, updating him on the ongoing development projects in Chhattisgarh.
