The venue and schedule for the Ashes Test series between Australia and England has been announced. Cricket Australia has released all the venues for the 2025-26 edition on Wednesday, October 16. Its first match will be played in Perth on November 21. This will be the first time in the last 43 years that this series will start from Perth instead of Brisbane. In the Ashes, the England team last won at this venue in 1978. At the same time, the Australian team has won all the last 8 matches at Perth in this series.
Australia and England are considered to be the oldest rivals in Test cricket. That is why fans eagerly await the Ashes Test series between the two teams. That is why the series has been announced a year before it begins so that fans can easily make arrangements for tickets and travel. The first match of the series will be played in Perth from 21 to 25 November.
The second match of the Ashes series is a day-night match, which is scheduled from 4 to 8 December at Brisbane's Gaba. The third match of the series is to be played before Christmas between 17 to 21 December at Adelaide's Oval, and the Boxing Day Test is to be played between 26 to 30 December at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Both teams will clash for the last match of the series in the new year from 4 to 8 January 2026.
Australia has held the Ashes since 2017. In 2023, it was played in England, where Australia drew the series 2-2. Australia won the first two matches. After this, England made a comeback and won 2 out of the next 3 matches. At the same time, 1 match was drawn. Earlier in 2021-22, the Ashes series was played in Australia, in which the England team had to face a crushing defeat of 4-0. At the same time, in 2019, Australia drew the series 2-2 in England and before that in 2017-18, they won 4-0 at home. In this way, the Australian team has been holding it since 2017.
