Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh: A disturbing incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district, stirring public outrage and putting local law enforcement under scrutiny. A woman has leveled grave allegations against a police sub-inspector posted at Harduaganj police station, accusing him of demanding sexual favors in exchange for tracing her missing husband.
According to the victim, she had approached the Harduaganj police station in search of her husband, who has been missing for several days. Instead of helping, the sub-inspector, identified as Dinesh Kumar, allegedly attempted to exploit her vulnerability.
The woman claims that the officer made repeated advances, calling her into a private room and subjecting her to inappropriate behavior. She further alleges that when she resisted, the officer threatened her with dire consequences and tried to silence her.
In a shocking development, the woman secretly recorded an audio clip of one of the alleged conversations. This audio, uploaded on April 23 by the X (formerly Twitter) account ‘UttarPradesh.ORG News,’ has since gone viral, igniting public fury.
The case has taken a serious turn as the woman has now written to the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, requesting permission for euthanasia. In her letter, she expressed hopelessness, stating that if justice is denied, she would prefer death over a life of humiliation.
Reacting to the incident, the Aligarh police have issued an official statement via X, confirming that a high-ranking officer has been appointed to investigate the matter. CO Atroli has been entrusted with the task of conducting a detailed inquiry into the complaint.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across social media, with citizens demanding strict action and systemic reforms. The case highlights the urgent need for accountability and protection for women seeking justice within police establishments.
This case not only raises serious questions about law enforcement practices but also calls for a thorough review of the safety mechanisms for women. The public and digital activists alike are urging authorities to ensure that such abuses of power are not repeated.
