Vernon Kay's brilliant reply when fan says he's 'punching' with wife Tess Daly

and have given fans a sneak peek into their private life with a rare photo shared during some downtime at home.

The well-known pair, who tied the knot in 2003, are parents to two teenage daughters, Phoebe and Amber. And while they usually keep their personal lives under wraps, they occasionally offer glimpses into their life together

It was Vernon who recently provided a look into their date night, posting an Instagram snap of himself and Tess smiling at the camera as they sat together in a restaurant, poised for a lovely dinner.

The Bolton-born presenter captioned the post, which also showcased their delectable dishes saying: "One of our first ever dates was @nobulondonportman it's good to go back and enjoy the food again especially the BlackCod. What a treat. @tessdaly...Time off work to unwind and enjoy."

The image of the couple was accompanied by shots of the scrumptious food they enjoyed – and prompted plenty of sweet comments. Actress Anna Friel commented: "You both look radiant. Cos you are."

Fans were also quick to flood the comments section, with one catching Vernon's attention. It said: "Do you ever look at Tess on a regular basis and think God I'm punching here lol."

Vernon didn't find the cheeky remark insulting – and playfully replied: "every morning!!!" and added a crying laughing emoji to his response.

But some fans quickly sprang to his defence. A user called @chris.ansary posted: "They are equally as gorgeous and talented." And another said: "No cause Vernon is just as good looking as Tess. They are a lovely couple."

Tess herself took to Instagram to share some snaps, including one chilled-out Vernon enjoying the garden and their dogs during the recent sunny weather.

With a glowing selfie straight from their home gym, the Stockport-born broadcaster said: "Feeling more alive in this beautiful sunshine. Now gearing up to shoot our next @naia_beach collection in a few weeks."

The affection didn't take long to arrive from followers. An Instagram user called @deer.724669 said: "Beautiful lady. Lovely hubby and so sweet little dogs."

Another wrote: "Ahhhh lovely!" A third remarked: Amazing photos of the 4 of you. Thanks for sharing." And a fourth added: "Gorgeous."
