Lloyds Banking Group confirmed in a post on X that there was an issue and that it was working to fix it as soon as possible. The post read: "We know some customers are having issues with Internet Banking and Mobile Banking. We're sorry about this and we're working to have everything back to normal." This post was published across each bank's social media page.

On X user claims there have been several issues with the banking group's apps since they issued an update. They said: "#lloyds bank app not working again. Has been terrible since the update. Perhaps you should concentrate on current customers rather than trying to attract new customers with a £200 bung."

A Halifax customer reported the issue at around 10:30 this morning saying: "@HalifaxBank What is going on with the Halifax app? I logged in but it's not displaying any transactions when I click on my account and no transactions when I click on statements. All I can see is the total money in my account." Another banking customer claimed that this was the third time over the last month there had been issue with online banking.
