Jeremie Frimpong is set to sign a five-year deal with after the full back jetted in on Sunday ahead of a medical.
The Netherlands international will become the champions’ first summer signing after they agreed a £30m deal with Bayer Leverkusen.
Frimpong, 24, was identified as the club’s top target once they learnt that would depart at the end of his contract in June. And Frimpong will undergo his medical on Monday having already agreed personal terms.
Bundesliga side Leverkusen signed Frimpong from Celtic in a deal worth up to £11.5m in January 2021 and the Scottish champions have a sell-on clause that could pocket them another estimated £5m.

The German club are searching for a successor to replace head coach Xabi Alonso, who is set to join in time for next month’s Club World Cup.
And after Frimpong informed the club hierarchy of his desire to make a move to the Premier League they have decided to get the move out of the way.
Liverpool only signed Federico Chiesa last summer before winning the title at a canter. But they are expected to have a much busier window this year with a new centre-forward also high up their priority list. Darwin Nunez, whose admirers include Atletico Madrid, is expected to depart.
Slow, however, has made it clear that he is more than happy with his current squad - with Virgil van Dijk and already agreeing to contract extensions.
"I've said many times already that we, as a club, are very happy with the players we've got," he said before Monday night’s game against .

"Part of it is our decision but in some situations players that haven't played a lot are not looking forward to another season not playing a lot.
"So, there's always an ongoing process and we have to make sure that we are prepared if we can strengthen the squad. But it's difficult to strengthen this squad. There's a reason why we won the league - because we have so many great players.
"It's an ongoing process, what we are talking about. I think this club has shown so many times in the past that they will make the right decisions.
"And we made the right decision this season as well not to bring in a player at all - except for Federico Chiesa - and that worked out quite well.”
