One character in particular may be the one to expose and take down villain John Sugden.
While viewers have grown convinced a particular villager could trigger killer John's downfall, the actor playing said character has suggested it may be someone else. Mackenzie Boyd appears to have John's cards marked, convinced there's something off about his pal Aaron Dingle's fiancé.
This will continue it seems with the pair constantly out to get one another. Just recently we saw John vow to kill Mack after he warned him away from Aaron, leading to someone else mistakenly being attacked.
But with spoilers for next week teasing he may target Mack and with Mack out to sabotage him, fans are wondering if it will be Mack who's next to die after Nate Robinson's death months ago. There's still Mack's flashforward clip to air too, with many fans convinced it's linked to John.

Now, actor Lawrence Robb who plays Mack has teased what lies in store. He did share that he would want it to be Mack that takes down John, before hinting he thinks another character would be a far better choice.
Teasing Aaron could be the one who turns on his partner and exposes his crimes, Lawrence explained: "I think because of Mackenzie’s relationship with Aaron, because they’re so close, I think it would be a nice full-circle moment for Mackenzie to catch John in what he’s doing.
"Whether that does happen I don’t know, but that would be a nice full-circle moment. For the character, for me, for the audience, but it might also be quite nice that Aaron does it as well."
He added of Mackenzie being the hero: "I would love that, but that’s not up to me. I guess it would be nice because from the get-go Mackenzie didn’t like John, but it’s up to the powers that be."
It comes as Lawrence and soap producer Laura Shaw both teased a huge new storyline ahead for Mack and Aaron, that would be "life-changing". It's been revealed Mack's flashforward of him running through the woods is linked to the plot that is thought to be airing later in the year.
Laura revealed to The that Mack and Aaron would take centre stage in a mystery storyline, which would air across a big week of episodes. Not only that, but they are currently building a special set for the huge scenes.
Lawrence told us: "We haven’t filmed that yet. I know it’s intrinsically linked to the big story about Mackenzie and Aaron, but that’s all I know at the minute." Meanwhile, Laura spilled: "We've got big stuff coming up for Aaron and Mackenzie towards the end of summer into autumn.
"We've got a big week of episodes planned for then. It's gonna be life changing for those two. We've still got that flashforward from , we've not forgotten about it. Might that happen there? We shall see.
"We are actually in the process of building a new set for that week and I've read the first drafts of the scripts and I have to say it's some of the most exciting and gripping episodes that I've read in a long time. I can't wait to see what happens with that."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on , , , , , and .
