Coronation Street death plot as Mick vows to kill Kit as secret past exposed

Send Push

It's been revealed that villain Mick Michaelis will plot murder in upcoming scenes, as he wants detective Kit Green dead.

Whatever comes out about the pair's pasts, with them friends when they were teens, leads to more than one bombshell. Not only that, but Mick will want revenge it seems when one secret in particular turns his upside down.

For months Kit has remained coy about his backstory, and fans have not known much about the dodgy detective. We are finally seeing Kit in scenes with Mick and his wife Lou too, after Corrie boss Kate Brooks revealed at the end of last year that the new Weatherfield residents shared a link to Kit.

Just recently we saw Mick taunt Kit about their past, and it's clear they are both hiding things. With a flashback episode set to air very soon that will reveal what went on when they were teens and what led to them being the people they are today, there's bound to be a twist or two.

One such twist will see Mick find out that his and Lou's son Brody might actually be the biological child of Kit. This and the events of the upcoming flashback will lead to Mick plotting a deadly final revenge it seems, in that he wants to kill Kit - but would he actually go that far?

Actor Joe Layton who plays Mick spilled to The : "I think he likes to think that he would be able to do that. Not like as in he would enjoy doing that but he’d back himself to do it.

"If he’s standing over him again I think all of those things flash through his head in terms of this was my best friend, and I don’t want to be in this position but he’s also a man who’s lost everything. When someone’s lost everything and they’ve led the life that Mick has led and the stories that we learn about him, that makes someone incredibly dangerous I think."

On the DNA bombshell that could see Mick find out Brody isn't his son, he revealed: "He’s totally blindsided by it. I think there could well have been transgressions from both Lou and Mick over the years but for one, Brody not to be his biological son and two, the father to be Kit is completely unique. He had no idea, I don’t think. That’s how I played it anyway."

It seems Kit will face the full wrath of Mick, but Lou may also need to be careful. Joe told us: "In terms of Kit and Lou, I think obviously he’s devastated and he lashes out at Lou and then immediately regrets it but again, that kind of harks back to what I was saying about not necessarily having the tools to deal with these huge emotions that he’s feeling.

"And then his eyes are on Kit because I think that it’s a different kind of heartbreak but it’s betrayal on both fronts. I think if you could give Mick a time machine and he could go back in time and choices could’ve been made differently, which we’ll see in these flashback episodes, the context of that is really important.

"It doesn’t condone in any way his behaviour but it’s really, really complicated and I think as we get further into the storyline and we learn more about that, it will add hopefully a bit of light and shade to Mick and the complexity of him as a man and what he's been through, what he’s going through.

"But he becomes fixated on Kit and it becomes about rage and finding a channel to outlet his emotions through."
