The Repair Shop's Julie Tatchell and Amanda Middleditch were left fighting back tears when a guest became emotional upon being reunited with her treasured possession.

In the latest instalment of the beloved series, the skilled restorers tackled a range of precious items in need of their magic touch.

One particular item stirred deep emotions for Julie and Amanda. Sarah Ruffle, joined by her son James, entered the renowned workshop with hopes of having her childhood teddy bear brought back to its former glory.

Sarah shared the touching story of her cherished bear, which had been her steadfast companion during her ongoing health battles, revealing she was diagnosed with Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus as an infant, reports .

The teddy bear, which had accompanied her on hospital visits from a young age during times when her parents couldn't stay by her side now bore the marks of time, lacking eyes and held together by tape and bandages, as Julie observed.

Explaining the significance of the bear, Sarah said: "He was given to me when I was a month old and he has been with me ever since. My sister is 15 months older than me so mum and dad were unable to stay with me in hospital."

She continued, highlighting the bear's role as her confidant: "Where I couldn't share things with Mum and Dad because they would get upset I would share them with Ted and it's just my comfort."

The duo of toy restorers, Julie and Amanda, knew there was a hefty challenge in store as they eagerly set to work, determined to ensure Teddy could continue to provide Sarah with solace for many more years.

When Sarah and James returned to the renowned barn for their teddy bear, the revelation of the restored toy overwhelmed Sarah, prompting her to tears.

Astounded by Teddy's rejuvenation, Sarah expressed her delight: "Wow. It's got a face with blue eyes. It's so lovely."

Julie, feeling the pressure of getting it right, replied: "I'm so pleased you like his face because for us that was our biggest concern."

Clutching her teddy, Sarah continued, overwhelmed with emotion: "I don't think I'm going to put him down. Thank you."

A grateful James chimed in: "Thank you so much for all you've done."

The poignant scene touched Julie and Amanda deeply, resulting in a moment charged with emotion that had the two restorers struggling to hold back tears, leading to a heartfelt exchange between them with Amanda checking on Julie: "Are you ok?"

In front of the camera, an emotional Sarah added a few final words: "It feels priceless to have him back. He has always been my strength."

The Repair Shop continues on BBC One and iPlayer.
