Two pensioners have tragically died after a fire erupted inside a home in Hampshire.
Emergency services raced to a property in Heron Close, Alton, in the early hours of Monday morning. crews and police officers attended the property shortly after 4am.
Sadly, the two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Hampshire Constabulary have since identified them as a man aged in his 90s and a woman in her 80s.
Now, the force have launched an appeal for witnesses and CCTV footage following the deadly . It remains unclear what caused the fire.

A spokesperson confirmed that the victims loved ones have been informed. They said: "We are appealing for witnesses and information that could assist with our investigation into a fatal fire in Alton.
"We were called at 4am on Monday 14 April, to reports of a at a house in Heron Close, Alton.
"Firefighters and police attended but, sadly, a man in his 90s and a woman in her 80s were pronounced dead at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed.
"An investigation is under way alongside Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service to determine the cause of the fire and establish the circumstances of what took place.
"We would like to speak to anyone who may have information that could assist with our inquiries.
"This includes anyone who has CCTV or doorbell footage in the area, or anyone who has dashcam footage of the area around this time."
