Sharjah | The Sharjah International Book Fair presents a vibrant lineup of events this year, tailored for Malayali readers. Notable literary figures will take center stage to share their creative journeys and engage with the audience.
On November 16th, Saturday, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, the festival will host a poetic evening in the conference hall, featuring acclaimed poets Rafeeq Ahammed and P P Ramachandran.
Rafeeq Ahammed, the recipient of the Kerala Literary Academy Award and six-time Kerala State Film Award winner, is renowned for both his poetry and lyrical mastery in film songs. Attendees can look forward to a captivating blend of poetry and oratory as he takes them on a poetic journey, promising an evening that feels like an “Incessant rain” of verses. P P Ramachandran known for the simplicity and elegance of his writing, has carved a special place in the hearts of poetry lovers. His poem,”Lalitham” has cemented his place in readers’ memories. A recipient of several literary honors, including the Kerala Literary Academy Award,P Kunhiraman Nair Poetry Award and Cherusseri Award, he will offer a fresh perspective to the audience on literature through his poetry and conversation.
Aswathy SreekanthOn November 15th, the spotlight will be on Akhil P Dharmajan, a celebrated writer and screenwriter of the new generation. He will be featured on “Stories beyond books- An evening with Akhil P Dharmajan, the author of Ram C/O Anandhi” happening at the conference hall from 8:00 to 9:30 PM. In this inspiring session, he will recount his early times of self-publishing to his journey of becoming a widely recognized author. His candid insights into the challenges and triumphs of writing, promise to make this an engaging and motivational evening for aspiring writers.
Additionally, on November 10th,Aswathy Sreekanth, a prominent TV presenter, actress, and writer, will grace the Sharjah International Book Fair.She will be present at the session , “ From Radio waves to Literature: An evening with Aswathy Sreekanth” happening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the conference hall. From her early days as a radio jockey to becoming one of the most beloved personalities in the Malayalam entertainment industry, Aswathy will reflect on her diverse experiences across multiple media platforms, offering valuable insights into her remarkable career trajectory.
Akhil P Dharmajan and Vinoy ThomasOn November 16th, popular Malayalam novelist and story writer Vinoy Thomas will engage with readers at Book Forum 1 from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. A recipient of the Kerala Literary Academy Awards for both novel and story, Vinoy Thomas is a highly regarded literary figure. Notably, he is also the author behind the story of the popular film Churuli,directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery.
