Anurag Kashyap is one filmmaker who is known for speaking his heart out without being scared of anyone. Recently, in an interview with The Juggernaut, he spoke about Bhushan Kumar's T-Series not paying him a good amount for the music of his movies Dev D, Gangs Of Wasseypur, and Gulal. The filmmaker stated that the music label doesn't have understanding of good music, and they only pay for stars.
Anurag said, “The idea is not to cater to the market. If T-Series, Bhushan Kumar, is not buying it, then it is good music. T-Series doesn't buy good music at a good price. They paid very less for Dev D, Gangs of Wasseypur or Gulaal. They only pay for who is the star in it. They don't pay for the quality of music."
"They paid nothing for Dev D music. Ask the producers, UTV studios... they don't understand what's good music. They will only pay for a certain kind of music and only push for that," he added.

The filmmaker further revealed T-Series paid a good amount for Ranbir Kapoor starrer Bombay Velvet, which was directed by him. He said, “The highest amount of money they paid for any of my movies is Bombay Velvet. As music, it was very good, but it worked the least for them. Because nobody wanted to listen to jazz. They paid the highest price for that and not Dev D or Gangs of Wasseypur.”
'Ted Sarandos Is Definition Of Dumb': Anurag Kashyap SLAMS Netflix CEO Over His Sacred Games CommentWhile Anurag in the interview has said that if T-Series is not buying the music, then it is good music, in the industry, it is considered the opposite that if a movie's music is under the label of Bhushan Kumar, then the songs will turn out to be good.
We wonder what Bhushan Kumar has to say about this statement of Kashyap.
