During the riot, Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and 19‑year‑old Sumit Kumar were fatally shot while attempting to control the mob.

Five Found Guilty of Murder, Sentenced to Life
After nearly 6 years, 7 months, and 27 days, the court convicted five individuals (Prashant Nat, Rahul, David, Lokendra Singh, and Johnny) for murder, under IPC Section 302. They were sentenced to life imprisonment.
