Mumbai: A shocking incident of gunfire took place in Mumbai’s Chembur area on Wednesday night, leaving a 50-year-old builder critically injured. The victim, identified as Sadruddin Khan, a resident of Belapur in Navi Mumbai, was targeted by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle who opened fire on him near the Sion-Panvel Highway around 9:50 PM.
A shocking firing incident was reported near Diamond Garden signal in Chembur on Wednesday night, leaving 50-year-old builder Sadruddin Khan, a resident of Parsik Hill, Belapur, seriously injured. According to Zone 6 DCP Navnath Dhavale, the incident took place around 9:50 PM when Khan was travelling towards Panvel via the Sion-Panvel Highway.
Two unidentified men on a motorcycle approached Khan near the signal and opened fire on him before fleeing the scene. Khan was hit by multiple bullets and was rushed to Zen Hospital, where he is currently admitted. His condition is reported to be stable.
Chembur Police have registered a case and are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the suspects. The motive behind the firing is yet to be determined. Further investigation is underway.
According to police sources, Khan was en route to Panvel when the attackers approached and fired 4–5 rounds at him. He sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to Zen Hospital, where he is currently under treatment and reported to be in a stable condition.
The Chembur police have initiated an investigation into the matter. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the assailants and trace their route. A case has been registered, and police teams have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. Motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained. Further investigation is underway.
