New Delhi: During festivals in India, trains become overcrowded and tickets are hard to get. To make travel easier and cheaper, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced a new offer.
If you book your onward and return tickets together, you will get a 20% discount on the base fare of the return ticket. This new plan is called the "Round Trip Package for Festival Rush."

- The tickets must be in the same passenger’s name and details.
- Both tickets must be for the same class and between the same stations.
- Onward travel: between 13 October and 26 October 2025.
- Return travel: between 17 November and 1 December 2025.
Important rules:
- First, book the onward ticket. Then, use the connecting journey option to book the return ticket.
- No changes, no refunds, and no other discounts allowed.
- Offer applies to all classes and most trains, including special trains, but not to Flexi Fare trains.
- Both tickets must be booked through the same method — either online or at the station counter.

The Railways wants to spread the passenger rush over different days during festivals. This will make trains less crowded and help passengers get confirmed tickets more easily.
