YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant Armaan Malik recently revealed that he has been receiving threats and was also followed by someone a few days back. Taking to his official Instagram account in the wee hours of Thursday (May 15), Armaan and his second wife, YouTuber Kritika Malik, urged Punjab Police to issue an arms license for their family members' safety.
In a video, Armaan stated that he is facing challenges in getting the arms license approved from authorities. Despite visiting government offices and police stations for several months, he said his license is not being approved.
"I have been living in Zirakpur, Punjab, for the past five years and have been receiving threats for quite some time. An FIR has also been filed," he said in the video.
The YouTuber further alleged that just a few days ago, an unidentified car followed him after which he immediately contacted the police helpline and shared all relevant information, including the car's registration number. Despite this, he claimed there was no follow-up from the authorities. "Everytime they ignore my request and say that case has been registered against me in Delhi," Armaan said.
He also denied having any criminal history, calling the case 'jhootha aur be-buniyaad.'
"I am active on social media and I only post good family content. But it is with regret that I must say I have been receiving constant threats for some time now - threats to my life, to harm my family, and to take away everything that is part of my life. Despite these threats, I have maintained my faith in the law. I have taken every necessary legal steps, filed complaints, submitted applications, and sought help. Yet, the sense of danger still looms over me and my family," he wrote along with the video.
"I also applied for an arms license for my safety, so that at the very least, I could protect my family myself. But each time, the administration has stopped me, citing that there is a case against me - a case that is completely false and baseless, and whose truth is currently being addressed in the honourable court. I have complete faith in our judiciary that, in the end, truth will prevail. But until then, should my family and I continue to live under the fire of insecurity?" Armaan asked.
The YouTuber urged authorities to understand the 'seriousness' of his situation and said, "I am a father, a responsible citizen, and I have every right to protect myself and my children. My humble request is that I be granted an arms license so that I can at least defend myself. This is not a rebellious plea, but the appeal of a helpless yet self-respecting citizen who simply wants that he and his family may live in safety."
Armaan is known for his marriage to two wives, Payal Malik and Kritika Malik. The trio participated in the third season of Bigg Boss OTT, hosted by Salman Khan, and also went ahead to be the most discussed contestants on the show.
They have four children together - Chirayu, Tuba, Ayan, and Zaid. Armaan married Payal in 2011, and, in 2018, he tied the knot with Payal's best friend Kritika.
