There’s never been a better time to take a pilgrimage to Ajmer! Pilgrims who are visiting the beautiful city to visit the dargah can now enjoy a ride on the country’s first electric double-decker cruise. These majestic cruises will be sailing on the picturesque Ana Sagar Lake. Here’s all you need to know about these cruises:

A Look At India’s First E-Cruises!
As per an ETV Bharat report, the cruises have the capacity to host 150 passengers. It can carry approximately 75 people on both the decks.

The e-cruise service was officially launched on Friday, with the event attended by Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat, Mayor Brajlata Hada, and several administrative officials. The maiden voyage primarily consisted of government officials and public representatives.

Importantly, the municipal corporation has awarded the contract for managing the e-cruise operations on Ana Sagar Lake at an annual fee of Rs 67 lakh, with a 10% yearly increment.

JP Dadhich, the owner of the e-cruise, mentioned that the vessel was constructed by Goa-based Board Craft Private Limited at a cost of Rs 5 crore. This marks the nation's first e-cruise made from fiber instead of heavy iron. Its lightweight design allows it to operate even in waters as shallow as four feet.

Surendra Rao, the manager of the operating company, explained that the double-decker e-cruise measures 22 meters in length. The lower deck is air-conditioned, while the upper deck features a dance floor and open-air seating. A kitchen on board offers continental cuisine, fast food, and fresh juices. Separate restrooms for men and women are also available.

The Cruises Are Eco-Friendly
The engine is battery-powered, with recharging occurring as it operates, and there’s a backup of four to five hours even when the engine is off. Plans are underway to add solar panels to the roof. Unlike traditional cruises, this vessel’s engine runs silently, and eco-friendly bio-toilets are cleaned daily.

Pocket Pinch
A ticket to the cruise has been set at a reasonable price of Rs 300.
