New Delhi [India], November 5 (ANI): Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Asa'd Madani has hailed the Supreme Court's ruling on Tuesday affirming the constitutional validity of the UP Madrasa Board.
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind President called it a "victory for justice" and a "much-needed light at the end of the tunnel" for the Indian Muslim community. Maulana Madani added that this ruling goes beyond addressing the technical status of the Madrasa Board--it serves as a critical response to ongoing "negative campaigns" against madrasas by certain communal forces.
He said that the Supreme Court has set a powerful precedent, reaffirming fundamental constitutional principles and safeguarding the rights of minorities.
Reflecting on the Chief Justice of India's remark, "Live and let live," he emphasized its importance as a guiding principle for every Indian.
"This decision sends a powerful message of justice across the nation at a time when Muslims feel increasingly marginalized and isolated," he said.
"With certain communal forces--and even some government ministers--openly advocating violence and questioning the very existence of madrasas, the Supreme Court's words stand as a crucial reminder of our shared constitutional values and humanity," he added.
Maulana Madani also commended the UP Madrasa Teachers' Association for its steadfast efforts in securing this verdict through legal channels, applauding their commitment to upholding educational rights and the constitutional principles that protect them.
Maulana Waheedullah Khan Saeedi, the National General Secretary of the All India Teachers' Association for Arabic Madrasas, along with other officials, expressed their heartfelt gratitude via WhatsApp to Maulana Mahmood Asa'd Madani, and Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, the General Secretary.
They acknowledged their unwavering support in challenging the High Court's decision against madrasas at the Supreme Court. Their collaboration throughout the legal proceedings has been invaluable. They received support from Jamiat's legal advisor, Maulana Niaz Ahmed Farooqi, who kept them informed and motivated throughout the process. (ANI)
