Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 16 (ANI): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya janata Party (BJP) leader and former J&K Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh stated that PM Modi's vision for the region is focused on its youth, and only the BJP's double-engine government can effectively rebuild the Union Territory.
Nirmal Singh, on Monday, said, "The Prime Minister's vision for J&K places the youth at its centre. The youth make up the largest portion of the population, around 65-70 percent, and women represent 50 percent. Only the BJP's double-engine government can reshape J&K. The development of Jammu and Kashmir is only achievable with the support of the Union government. I urge the youth of Kashmir to seize this opportunity to rebuild Kashmir."
He further noted that under PM Modi's leadership, changes have been introduced in recruitment processes, with youth now being selected based on merit.
"Now, there is transparency. Previously, nepotism was rampant. Today, the talent and potential of the people are being recognised. Kashmir has always been home to tremendous talent, but it was often misguided. Since 2019, we are witnessing a change, with our children attending school regularly. We will create 5 lakh job opportunities, 1 lakh of which will be in the government sector. Youth preparing for the UPSC exams will receive coaching fee concessions. Additionally, women in every household will receive Rs 18,000 annually. Over the past five years, 5,000 youths have received commercial vehicles," Nirmal Singh said.

He added, "In our manifesto, we have promised zero electricity bills for every household, with solar energy playing a key role. We have committed to ensuring transparency in the recruitment system. What was not achieved in 70 years has been accomplished in the past five years. Furthermore, 4,000 girls have received up to Rs 5 lakh to support their self-help groups."
Singh mentioned that this will be PM Modi's third visit to Jammu and Kashmir since 2019.

"PM Modi's vision is to rebuild Kashmir, a region that has suffered greatly due to separatism. The Prime Minister will address the youth, and approximately 40,000 people are expected to attend the rally. Since 2019, projects worth Rs 80,000 crore have been brought to the state. The BJP will undoubtedly come to power. Under the National Conference and PDP, J&K experienced only death and unemployment. Our horticulture and tourism sectors have not been fully exploited. Under Ayushman Bharat, even Dr Farooq Abdullah has received health insurance. There are also widow pensions and old-age pensions, and these initiatives will help secure votes."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a rally in Srinagar on September 19.
The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25, and November 1, with vote counting scheduled for October 8. (ANI)
