New Delhi [India], October 5 (ANI): Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia held a Padayatra in the Chandni Chowk area, noting that public enthusiasm has been growing steadily due to the ongoing Padayatras.
"For the last one and a half months, I have been conducting Padayatras, and the people's enthusiasm keeps increasing. They say they've been waiting for us to come out of jail and resume working for them," Sisodia said.
Sisodia also interacted with locals during his Padayatra in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, on Friday.
In August, Sisodia began his Padayatras, reconnecting with the public after 17 months of imprisonment.
In February 2023, Sisodia was arrested by the CBI over alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of Delhi's now-scrapped new excise policy.
According to the CBI, Sisodia played a crucial role in the criminal conspiracy and was heavily involved in both the formulation and execution of the policy.
Assembly elections in Delhi are expected to take place in early 2025. In the 2020 elections, the Congress party failed to win any seats, while the Aam Aadmi Parti (AAP) secured 62 out of 70, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning eight seats. (ANI)
