New Delhi [India], September 25 (ANI): Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday took part in a series of events under "Swachhta Hi Sewa" campaign at Soochna Bhawan hosted by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness and environmental stewardship.
The minister administered oath to officers and staff of the ministry of information and broadcasting at Soochna Bhawan where participants pledged to promote cleanliness and sustainable practices within their spheres of influence.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, on Wednesday, also planted a sapling under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's plantation drive -- 'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam'.
Through taking part in the drive, the minister highlighted the dual objective of cleanliness and environmental conservation.
He also distributed saplings to the employees and underlined individual responsibility towards the environment.
Vaishnaw was accompanied by Minister of State for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan, along with Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chairperson, Press Council of India, officers from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Media heads from other wings of M/o I&B and officers/officials in large number were also present during the events.
