Aleister Black to feud with this 30-year-old following his return?

Send Push

Aleister Black returned to WWE programming on the latest episode of SmackDown, much to the delight of fans. This comes shortly after he parted ways with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he performed as Malakai Black. Prior to this, there was speculation of him joining The Judgement and helping the faction scale new heights. However, a closer look at what transpired tonight suggests that this may not be the plan as the company seems to have other ideas for him

Aleister Black returns on WWE SmackDown

.Aleister Black is back in the WWE fold and will most probably be an important part of programming in the weeks to come. He made his heavily teased return to the promotion by interrupting The Miz, who was ranting about being left off the WrestleMania 41  card. Black then destroyed ‘The Awesome One’ with a Black Mass and announced his arrival. These events suggest the WWE will be booking him as a face going forward as The Miz is a heel.

This means that, contrary to earlier speculation, he won’t be joining The Judgement Day as the group is being portrayed as a villainous entity. Moreover, the gothic/supernatural elements of the group were done away with after Edge’s departure. As such, his ‘otherworldly’ gimmick is unlikely to blend with the group in its current form.

That said, Triple H– who heads the creative– may have some other plans for him. The Miz is currently mentoring Carmelo Hayes, who recently won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale. Given the fact that the company sees potential in the star, ‘Him’ could feud with Black in the weeks to come. This will give the 30-year-old good exposure.

Will Aleister Black team up with his wife?

Black returned to the WWE on a night where Zelina Vega, his wife, won the US Championship from Chelsea Green. She is popular with the audience, and her big win only suggests that she is set for a major push. It remains to be seen whether she aligns with her husband now that he is back in the promotion.
