If you are also a fan of YouTube's trending page, then you are going to get a shock. The company has said that it will shut down its trending page from July 21, 2025. This page was started in the year 2015, which showed the most trending videos on the platform. The company says that in the last five years, there has been a huge decline in visits to this page, as people have started finding trending content in different ways on the platform.
Why is the trending page being shut down?
YouTube said in its blog post that now people have started accessing trending videos from options like Shorts, Search Suggestions, Comments, and Community Posts. This is the reason why the utility of the trending page gradually decreased, and the company decided to shut it down.
Where will trending content be found now?
YouTube said that YouTube Charts will be used to watch trending videos. Currently, these charts are available only for YouTube Music, where users can see trending music videos, top podcast shows and trending movie trailers. More categories will be added in the future. For gaming videos, users will still be able to see trending videos on the Gaming Explore page.
What will creators get?
Many creators used the trending page to show their popularity and understand new trends. YouTube has said that creators will now get personalized ideas in the Inspiration tab of YouTube Studio, which will help them in content planning.
