First of all, let us know how much loan is being offered with Kisan Credit Card.
How much loan is being given?
A short-term loan is offered to farmers through a Kisan Credit Card. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced in the budget of 2025-26 to increase the loan limit from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh through Kisan Credit Card under the MISS scheme.
This loan is available at the rate of 7 percent interest. Under the scheme, a 1.5 percent interest subsidy is available on the loan and this amount of subsidy is given by the government to the bank giving the loan. The farmer who pays the loan on time gets another 3 percent discount in interest. In this way, the actual interest rate for that farmer remains only 4 percent.
